Travel Tip

„Lido di Jesolo“
Greetings from the Adreatic Sea!

A quick trip to the sun, flight under 2 hours, no layovers, no long trips from the airport to the hotel, no algae or jellyfish plague ... instead great beaches, a variety of family-run hotels with all the trimmings - including a great hotel Bars, where you get a good glass of wine for 3Euro 50? Are there actually and indeed in Italy. Lido di Jesolo is a paradise for anyone looking for fun.

Families appreciate the child-friendliness, singles the hip beach bars (where after a few vinos you can also find yourself in a karaoke duet with a charming Antonio or a lovely Maria).

Where it is most beautiful!

Only a good 20 minutes away from Venice's Marco Polo Airport, we are greeted by a miles-long beaches and a city planning that is entirely tailored to us, the tourists. After 8 pm the main mile will become the pedestrian and cyclist zone. Brava! And a delicious restaurant leans on the next one.

During our entire stay - and we tried new places every day - we never had a mediocre or even bad pizza; Everything, whether schnitzel, fish or pasta was excellent. So just stroll along Via Mille and stop off somewhere when you're in the mood for good Italian food.

We loved the Amalfi - also thanks to the party atmosphere where the guests seize the microphone and sing Italian evergreens.

If you are in the mood for excellent Japanese cuisine, be sure to visit Koi. Tasty and extraordinary sushi creations plus a wide selection of hot delicacies - all in a central location and paired with fantastic design.

You like the combination of beach, fun and great food? Then you should stop by the Gasoline Beach Club. Is also one of the most popular places for an Aperol Spritz (here in the bag) or Vino after a nice beach day.

One or at least half a day of your holiday should be dedicated to the Caribe Bay Aqua Park. The water fun is endless (and what a setting for the best Instagram selfies!). Even those of us who think we've seen pretty much all the adventures and water parks will find themselves in a jam and swarm.

When choosing a hotel, I recommend one of the 4 star hotels, which is right on the beach on the Via Padova, such as the Hotel Anthony. I did not miss anything here except a gym. However, I was so many hours a day in the sea and hotel pool that I did not feel a lack of fitness. The kids had fun in the large and small pool as well as with the entertainment, ranging from beach soccer to handicrafts.

The half board always had a great buffet (morning and lunch on the terrace overlooking the beach) with much of the best what the sea has to offer. No guest I saw went to the buffet just once or twice. That says everything. Nice rooms (the kids loved their bunk bed) and balconies that invite you to the nightly glass of wine with moonlight at a pleasant 24 degrees.

A little more luxurious is the Almar Jesolo Resort & Spawith fantastic service - the drinks are brought to the beach and the gym has everything you could want to convert the daily carbs into muscle rather than fat. There are also spacious rooms and suites in stunning designs. Accordingly, the 5 stars are well deserved here.

Another tip:

Since Venice is so close, we recommend a short trip by water taxi to the legendary city - well worth it. Just remember: whatever you want to do, enjoy it - I'm sure your first visit will not be your last one.
